Unit 0 Conservation Laws (3 Days)
Complete the assignments below. Anti-green is Must-Do, green is Should-DO, anti-red is Strive-to-Do, and anti-blue is there if you need extra help. Once each lesson required is completed and you do not need to do anymore, complete the exit ticket. The exit tickets can be found in the designated area of the classroom. The exit ticket MUST be completed in the independent work area of the class. The purpose of the exit ticket is to demonstrate you truly understand the material.
At the end of each unit will be a review activity, followed by the test. Everyone will participate in the review activity and test at the same time. Occasionally, we will need to have a whole class lab to conserve space, time, or supplies.
All activities should be completed cooperatively with 1 partner, unless otherwise noted.
Before asking Mr. Skapetis a question, you must ask 3 classmates your question. If they do not sufficiently answer your question, then you may ask. It's not that he doesn't want to help you, but this policy frees him to reteach and grade the steady flow of work.
If there seems to be a glitch in my system or thinking, please let me know so this can be a smooth process going forward.

Lesson 0.1 Energy and Momentum Preview
I can use evidence (speed, stretch, height) to describe and calculate all types of energy present.
I can explain the implications of the conservation of energy
I can show that the TOTAL energy in a closed system is always the same
I can use the conservation of energy to solve for an unknown energy or variable in a problem
I can define and calculate momentum
I can use the conservation of momentum to solve for missing variables in linear collisions
I can calculate “before” and “after” momenta for multiple objects
Go to all stations and note your observations
Though this is to be completed independently, you may ask questions with each other if you are struggling to understand. Don't forget you can pause and rewind.

Please watch each video. I know the temptation is there to only watch the first and skip to the problems. However, this will negatively affect your understanding.
3) Practice Problems
Problem Set 2......Solutions
Problem Set 3.......Solutions
For Problem Set 2, skip #6
4) In other Words
Still not getting it? See it explained a different way.
Please see Mr. Skapetis for instructions on completing this.
